A Ready-Reckoner On How to Maintain and Repair Your Stove or Oven

  • It isn't safe to use aluminum foil or anything with metal in a microwave, unless your microwave specifically allows it. Check your owner's manual.
  • A fuse is a safety device that will cut off the flow of electrical current if the current becomes too strong. This action protects your microwave. If your microwave isn't working, check the fuse. Replace the fuse to make the appliance work again.
  • Check the turntable guide to make sure it's lined up properly. Make sure there is no debris or leftover food caught in its sides or bottom. You may need to re-align or clean your turntable guide. A turntable tray not sitting on its bushing correctly may not be the only reason why it's not turning properly. You may need to clean it, as debris may be hindering its movement. If you find any food particle hindering the tray's movement, thoroughly clean both the tray and below the tray with warm soapy water.
  • If your oven doesn't turn off, make sure it is on manual control. Be sure to check your owner's manual for proper settings.
