Extend the Life of Your Dishwasher

Are your dishes still dirty after going through the wash cycle? Check to make sure the water temperature in the house is at least 140-degrees and adjust the water heater accordingly if it is not.
Poor draining from the dishwasher can be a sign of a blockage in either the drain hose or a problem with the air gap. The drain hose can be removed and checked for a clog, which is often an issue if it drains into the garbage disposal. Make sure the hose is correctly attached at both ends before starting the dishwasher.
A faulty timer may be impacting the dishwasher cycle. Check to make sure the timer mechanism is operating correctly. It is possible to replace just the motor of the timer instead of the whole assembly.
A check valve is used in some dishwashers to prevent backflow when draining. This valve is operated by a solenoid, which is controlled by the timer. If the dishwasher is not draining and the timer is working fine, verify that the check valve is not damaged, and the solenoid is working correctly. If either one of them is damaged or non-functional, it can be replaced through our dishwasher repair service.
